The 750 Motor Club travelled north for the latest round of their 2020 season at Oulton Park last weekend (5th September). A varied programme featured a variety of cars, with single seaters, prototypes, touring cars and endurance racers all represented.
Top of the bill was a two hour race for the Club Enduro series, although the race was truncated to 85 minutes following an incident in the early laps which left the Seat Leon Eurocup of Ade Wooton and Ryan Hooker upside down in the Cascades gravel trap. Once the race restarted, victory went to the beautiful little Lotus Elise of Alan Henderson.
The F1000 UK series had a pair of 15 minute races, with victory in both encounters going to Lee Morgan. Race one was a tense affair, with Morgan sitting behind leader Dan Clowes for the entire distance, before taking the lead up the inside at Old Hall on the final lap of the race. Race 2 was more straightforward, with Morgan taking the lead on lap one and then leading Jack Tomalin over the line.
The Bikesports Championship rounds were dominated by Charles Hall in his Spire GT3, the only non-Radical chassis on the grid. Hall took victory in race one by over 50 seconds, whilst he was kept more honest in race 2 by the chasing Radical PR6 of Joe Stables, with the winning margin being only 4.77 seconds.
The Clio 182 Championship produced typically close racing, with victories going to Ryan Polley in race 1 and Josh Larkin in race 2, whilst the BMW Car Club wins were shared by Michael Cutt and Michael Pensavalle.
