Beechdean Aston Martin return to pole at Brands Hatch

Jonny Adam and Andrew Howard take pole overall whilst Century Motorsport take GT4 Pole ahead of the opening round of the 2021 British GT season.

It’s as though they never left, Jonny Adam and Andrew Howard together again in an Aston Martin take pole position. Century Motorsport however have reverted back to normality. Gus Burton and Will Burns topped both of the GT4 sessions in the afternoon to take a perfect class pole at the Brands Hatch Circuit.

Howard took the first qualifying session to place the car in third but Adam got in the car for the second session and put down a 1:23.763, a clear half a second ahead of the nearest competitor of Phil Keen in the WPI Lamborghini. Keen Also lines up on the front row in the Lamborghini accompanying Adam in the Beechdean Aston Martin.

Barwell’s #63 Lamborghni with Leo Machitski and Dennis Lind onboard line up third followed up by the returning solo Bentley for the 2021 season. Kelvin Fletcher and Martin Plowman have returned after their 2020 hiatus with the JRM squad to run the beautifully liveried Bentley. Kelvin Fletcher had a spin and off at Stirlings in qualifying 1 but recovered nicely to take 4th in the session.

Returning Champions Barwell Motorsport with Sandy Mitchell now partnered with Adam Balon line up 5th on the grid, ahead of the Silver/Am class pole of father son duo of Richard and Sam Neary. Team Abba Commercials are the top lying Mercedes on the grid despite running the older version of the AMG.

In GT4 Will Burns and Gus Burton set the quickest times in their sessions to take a fantastic pole for the Century squad after their slow 2020 season.
The pairing were looking super strong in the morning practice sessions and fully backed this pace up by taking pole position.

Second on the GT4 grid is the new Assetto Motorsport with their brand new Ginetta G56, Mark Sansom and Charlie Robertson. Third on the grid will be the hard charging Mustang GT4 from Academy Motorsport who look very strong in the opening sessions of the season. Toyota Gazoo Racing UK line up 4th on the grid with the solo Toyota GR Supra GT4.

Despite being the most popular choice of car in GT4 this season, the first Mclaren 570s doesn’t appear until the 3rd row of the grid in 6th place. The #2 Team Rocket RJN McLaren with James Kell and Jordan Collard take lead for the McLaren’s which Im sure will surge forwards come the race.
