Enduro Motorsport have confirmed their step up to the British GT Championship this season, with a GT3 McLaren 720S for the Pro-Am pairing of Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clayton.
Enduro was only founded in 2020, and had originally planned to make several race by race entries this season with the GT4 Mercedes AMG that it has previously campaigned in GT Cup. However, the team has stepped up to GT3 after acquiring Balfe Motorsport’s race winning McLaren chassis.
Tillbrook is inexperienced in GT terms, but finished on the podium several times in GT Cup last season. Clutton will be embarking on his first full British GT season for a decade, since winning the GT4 title in 2011 aboard a KTM X-Bow. He made a one off appearance in GT3 last season with JMH Auto in a Lamborghini Huracan, where he qualified a strong 5th at his local track, Oulton Park.
Tillbrook told britishgt.com: “I’ve got some endurance racing experience from Fun Cup but obviously it’s a very different ball game in British GT. We’re expecting a steep learning curve but I founded Enduro with the intention of competing at the highest level, and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing this year in the UK. Marcus’ knowledge will be invaluable and he’s more than quick enough to mix it with the championship’s familiar Pro drivers. A podium or two would represent a really good first season for us.”
The British GT Championship gets underway with a 2 hour race at Brands Hatch on Sunday 23rd May.
