Team Abba Racing have taken pole position ahead of todays GT Cup races with a stunning lap by Sam Neary. Sam Neary has impressed everyone so far this season in British GT and continues this by blowing the GT3 field out of the water in qualifying with a lap 2.1 seconds quicker than the nearest competitor.
Sam Neary completed only 4 laps before coming in and parking the monstrous Mercerdes AMG GT3 after setting a 1:27.422 there wasn’t much point in pushing much more with a clear advantage over the field. The Ultimate Speed squad are second on the grid with Matt Manderson and Mike Brown bring their brand new Aston Martin GT3 out to play still in it’s base factory white paint. John Seale and Marcus Clutton in the JMH Automotive sit third on the grid just 0.066 behind Manderson and brown.
In GTC class the Scott Sport team sweep the top two positions with Jim and Glynn Geddie in the #77 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo with Phil Quaife and John Dillion in the #61 Ferrari 488 Challenge in second.
On GTB class pole position is Team Hard with their #78 Porsche 997 GT3 Gen 1 cup car just 0.5s ahead of the higher placed #3 Top Cats Racing Marcos Mantis.
Splitting the top 2 in GTB was the GTH pole position from Newbridge Motorsport in their #38 Aston Martin GT4 with Alex Toth Jones and Matt Topham on board, setting a 1:34.685. Team hard also took another pole position in the GTA class with the #67 Ginetta G55 in the capable hands of Joshua Jackson and Simon Orange setting a 1:36.385.
The Grid will line up later on today for their first race at 13:50 for their first 25 minute sprint race of the weekend.
